- Process: audition setup → posting → planning → holding auditions → callbacks → final casting
Audition Logistics & Setup
- Dates: Saturday/Sunday Aug 30-31, four rooms reserved (one per team)
- Location: UCLA Melnitz Hall - provide detailed parking/directions to actors
- Park in Structure 3 visitor area
- Include campus map and walking directions
- Tim coordinates room assignments and building access
- Must inform Tim of exact schedule times
- Building closed Sundays - need advance notice for door access
- Professional, public locations required (not homes/hotels, not too public like coffee shops)

- TFT Connect: UCLA theater students database with contact info and reels
- Can browse and directly invite actors to auditions
- Instagram: @TFTConnect with QR code access
- Backstage: Industry magazine with casting platform
- Post under “I’m hiring talent”
- UCLA students get free account with code “UCLA CAST”
- Breakdown Express → Actors Access
- Create account on Breakdown Express first
- Select free posting on Actors Access only
Required Posting Information
- Production details: title, non-union, student film, 2-day shoot, UCLA location
- Director/producer names, audition location/times, callback dates
- Compensation: unpaid (credit, copy, meals)
- Character breakdowns for each speaking role:
- Give characters names (not “Woman #1”)
- Specify lead/supporting/cameo
- Age ranges (be generous, especially 40+ harder to cast)
- Physical traits only if story-critical
- Special skills (singing, instruments, etc.)
- Emphasize UCLA affiliation throughout posting
